Aunty Bev is a well-known content creator on TikTok, Her videos are about words, definitions, and word origins. She also posts videos that are intended to instruct viewers on how to communicate correctly.
When I came across her content, I immediately followed her and enjoyed her content. It turns out, I was not the only one. Aunty Bev had over 100,000 followers at the end of 2022. Her videos were viewed often, liked, and shared. She found a niche - words - that was an instant hit and fan favorite amongst most TikTokers.
That is until she posted a video chastising this Wendy's employee during an interaction in the drive-thru. I was pretty surprised by the aggression Aunty Bev portrayed and I was not alone.
The backlash against Aunty Bev was swift: the negative comments poured in and some viewers labeled poor Aunty Bev a Karen.
Aunty Bev posted the video and ultimately pulled the video down. Shortly after that, her page on TikTok disappeared.
I am sharing the video here because it is an interesting portrayal of the human experience, mental health and cancel culture.
