IS BLOOD REALLY THICKER THAN WATER?

It's quite common to quote that "blood is thicker than water" with the inference that family is where our first priority lies. There is however an expansion on that quote that is not so well-known. Which is, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." And this version has the reverse inference, being that any deep, mutually bonding agreement - or friendship - can often be much more important than some relationships with your family members. It took a while before Keith and Lee got around to discussing this as, which is often the case, they were distracted commenting on a few other matters. One that took Lee by surprise but allowed Keith to put the boot in a little. Well, we are talking about the Aussie and the Pom here, aren't we?
