It is certainly true that the word “chivalry” has a different meaning today than when it was used to define a knight's social code. But when people say “chivalry is dead” now, it’s usually used as commentary on how a man will act towards others, especially someone they are dating.

We wanted to ask ourselves if we felt this phrase was true based on our experience. We chat about times chivalrous deeds have meant a lot to us and times where they made us uncomfortable and gave us the “ick”.
