Today I’m teaming up with development influencer, Jason Thomas, to discuss development vs gentrification. We’re seeing an unbelievable renaissance with old warehouses in and around the city, where new retailers are moving for lower rents. However, as an area begins to become cool/hip/local, young people, with a little big of money, want to move in and redesign homes in that area. One of the biggest problems the city of Charlotte is starting to realize - how do you grow an area while also making up for the necessary affordable housing developments, transportation, and social programs?
