In Jesus' day, the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven drew a whole range of responses– from­ inquisitive to indifferent, from welcome reception to outright rejection. It is not dissimilar today. But whatever the response, this good news cannot be ignored. Jesus is "the one who is to come" as John the Baptist once asked of him, and his coming has changed history. Blessed indeed is the one who is not offended by him. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
