Many cafes are moving towards automation in as many fronts as can be afforded. Some of these are beneficial to the barista - auto dosing grinders to reduce waste, auto tampers to reduce strain, and efficient batch brew and espresso machines. Yet, full automation is likely not the only solution. If the human element of brewing, and really any other process is removed, then the chance for error is reduced, right? Human error has a tendency to be seen as undesirable, but why? Does removing human error from the mix really fix a said problem?
