Is It Ever Okay to Disobey or Delay Obedience for Pragmatic Considerations? (Joshua 5:1-8) | Bro. Mathew Wronski | Sunday Morning Sermons | January 23, 2022
Circumcision points to a righteousness which comes though faith; it is a symbol of faith in God and a loyalty to God. Why did God command Joshua to circumcise all Israel? God wants obedience and is concerned about the heart of people. Did they trust God to lead, protect, and give the land to them, to fulfill His promises? Joshua had no doubt; he knew their obedience was their security and protection. Under his leadership, God led Israel to victory. How can we apply the example of Joshua? Obedience may cost job, reputation, relationship, but will we stand strong? God will enable us. Trust God and receive the Spirit (spiritual circumcision). Ask God to circumcise your heart if you are not saved. For those of us who are saved, continue to stand strong and follow in the footsteps of Joshua and Abraham.
