Is It Taboo To Talk About Domestic Violence?

Listen Later

Domestic violence and sexual abuse are a threat to society, communities and the world. I believe it is not taboo to speak up against it. Our inability and unwillingness to address the effects of domestic violence on women will continue to dye unnecessarily.

Verna, what's your niche is, meaning who I serve during a conversation with someone.

As a thriver and survivor of Domestic and sexual abuse, I mentioned that I help women take their power back. Now I don't think my new friend meant any harm. When she said, that subject is taboo!

The word taboo is a religious custom prohibiting or forbidding association with a particular person. I must confess I took offence to it. It made me sad!

In this episode, I ask is taboo to talk about domestic violence?

As long as we continue to see this epidemic of domestic and sexual abuse against women as taboo and we choose to not deal with the generational cycle of violence and abuse, death will continue to be inevitable.

Not talking about the effect of domestic violence and sexual abuse implicitly allowed it to continue, and this is not something I am willing to stand by and watch without doing something about it!
