Statistics from the Insurance Bureau of Canada show BC’ers fork out $1680 a year for car insurance, the most out of any province. Next are Albertans, who pay $1251. On the heels of fresh data showing there were an average of 960 crashes a day in BC last year, is this really a surprise? ICBC revealed this week the daily cost of crashes to the insurer reached $13 million. The IBC estimates opening up BC’s insurance sector to private providers could save you $325 a year. Is it time?
