Is My Experience Valid? Labeling Sexuality

Listen Later

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Sexuality

We don’t expect straight people to come out as straight to society yet we expect anyone who doesn’t identify in that way to do so. Knowing that they would be the people that society is more likely to judge and shame for not being “like everyone else.” So many people don’t have to give a second thought to their sexuality that when someone does, the experience can be really unsettling. Especially if that experience doesn’t look how other people in similar situations have looked. Feeling different is one thing, feeling different amongst a group that is already looked at as different can be a whole different animal. Taylor bravely shares her experience of learning about her sexuality in this week's episode.

Taylor is recently married, living in the central MN area with her husband, 2 dogs and hamster. She’s been a full time nanny for about 4.5 years and coaches volleyball during the winter and spring seasons.
