Before leaving his job, CJI Dipak Misra decided he will be presiding over judgements for a slew of cases!

In one of them, the Section 497 of the Indian constitution has been termed to be in contradictory with the right to equality of gender. While that is a welcome judgement which will bring us to the modern era, there seems to be a sinister move by the media to paint it as a celebration of adultery.

In the case above, the court is right in saying it has no business in an individual's private affairs but the same court, in another case, based on a PIL by some activists to let women of all ages enter Sabarimala, has rendered a judgement contradicting with its stand on not entering into private religious matters of the Hindus.
