Welcome all to IS PHARMACOLOGY DIFFICULT Podcast ! I am Dr Radhika Vijay, in today's episode, I will be continuing with the revision of the leftover details about GPCR, to start with a little piece of positivity for the Monday and to carry along the whole week. Activated effector through second messengers produces desired effects.First messenger in this case is the Agonist! Stimulation of receptors make responses last several seconds. If agonist is not present, receptor turns to resting state. The alpha subunit has GTPase activity, GTP hydrolyses to GDP, alpha reunites to beta-gamma and this cycle continues. Then with a great example I will be giving mechanism in short. Next, i will be summarising variety of G protein, their associated receptor and effector pathways.Primarily there are 3 G protein coupled effector pathways, namely adenylate cyclase -cAMP pathway, phospholipase C -IP3,DAG pathway, and Ion channels. To revise their description and add new points to ponder, It is a very good idea to call it for a day and restart tomorrow afresh, so what do you say, no goodbye please, with a promise to verbally see you all tomorrow, do follow me here, do rate an dreview on ITunes, Apple podcasts, thank you!!
