I am Dr Radhika Vijay, in today's episode, with a resounding verse of few modified lyrics of Exile song, one of my favs these days, I will be starting the revision episode of the day, at the point of adenylate cyclase cAMP pathway , cAMP is second messenger, formed under influence of G proteins coupled to different receptors, stimulation of adenylyl cyclase occurs, all mediated by Gs, inhibited by Gi. Then I will be giving some great well known examples, when cAMP increases, both related to Gs and Gi. It means examples for stimulation as well as inhibition of adenylyl cyclase. Finally cAMP is hydrolysed within the cells by phosphodiesterase enzyme to 5 AMP, and action is terminated.
