Pharmacon means drug, Dynamis means action or activity, that is how exactly this term is broken..It is actually a study of biochemical and physiological effects of drug and their mode of action. It is one line well said as study of drug effects. Starting with what the drugs do, we explain how they do it, finally understand the complete action effect sequence and dose effect relationship. In this one drug modifies action of another drug. The golden statement goes as"Pharmacodynamics talks about all aspects of what drug does to the body."Effects of drug are quantitative, never qualitative. It means drugs can enhance or depress  already existing function but cannot create a new one. The type of response produced by a drug is known as effect. "How" and "Where" this wonderful effect is produced is the action of drug. Effects can be measured whereas actions are identified. Drug action always precedes Drug effect.
