Hot take: self-love isn't biblical, in fact, it's quite the opposite. We don't need self-love.... we need self-less love, not only is that what we are called to, but without the self-less love of Jesus there would be no cross. Mark 10:25 says "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Jesus tells us to follow Him. This is the Jesus we are to follow, a humbled servant, who looked to other's best interests instead of His own.
