We live in a unique culture.
Around the world, for all generations, people have understood that there is a God and that God expects us to live a certain way.
Even cultures with multiple gods will attribute natural disasters, tragedy, or illness to “the gods” being upset.
But today, in 21st-century America, we rarely think about God as a God who expects us to live a certain way.
