This weeks episode with Dr. Jeff Smith and Jim Case is a deep dive around this statement:

"Pain travels through family lines until someone is ready to heal it in themselves. By going through the agony of healing you no longer pass the poison chalice onto the generations that follow. It is incredibly important and sacred work."

Should pain be viewed as individual or generational?

Often it is the death of a parent or significant family member that brings awareness, clarity and the desire to end old suffering.

When we replace the word "sin" with the word "pain"; as it is used throughout our history, it seems that so much we seek to understand comes into greater clarity and focus. Consider the idea of original sin as original (generational) pain. In doing do we begin to see how our own judgments and pain created the separation and lack of worthiness that we, and most humans experience. And we see the true beginnings of generation pain that is carried and grows...until a powerful individual shows up and is willing to do the work to break the cycle and end the original story that has been translated generation after generation.
