Independent Media chair and head of Sekunjalo Group, Dr Iqbal Surve says South Africa's black economic empowerment model is fundamentally flawed and needs to be reviewed urgently. He was testifying at the Judicial Inquiry into the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) in Pretoria. Dr Surve says BEE doesn't bring any meaningful economic transformation and that it is merely an "artificial" entry point into the capital markets.
