The Nuremberg Code is the most important document in the history of the ethics of medical research. Will top down universal mandates in the EU effectively dismantle the Nuremberg Code of 1947? Recently, EU Chief Ursula von Der Leyen aroused fears across the web (made viral by tweets from Jordan Peterson and Michael P Senger) when she said the EU must consider universal health mandates. In this video, we discuss the Nuremberg Code in the framework of the current global health environment at the end of 2021, and what the fact-checking propagandist community has to say about the applicability and enforceability of the Nuremberg Code.

The Nuremberg Code is the most important document in the history of the ethics of medical research.The Code was formulated 50 years ago, in August 1947, in Nuremberg, Germany, by American judges sitting in judgment of doctors accused of conducting murderous and torturous human experiments in the concentration camps (the so-called Doctors' Trial).7 It served as a blueprint for today's principles that ensure the rights of subjects in medical research.
