Is the bible really opposed to women? Must wives submit to their husbands? Is it true that women cannot teach men? In this series, I want to take a closer look at these difficult texts and suggest that there’s more to them than meets the eye. But in order to do that, we first need to look at what life was like for ancient wives and ask: was it any different for the Christian wives?
