The future of South Africa’s Government of National Unity (GNU) hangs by a thread after President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the expropriation bill into law. The law allows the government to expropriate land if it deems it to be in the public interest, but coalition members say Ramaphosa is trying to implement ANC policies.
