You are born to a middle class family.

By the time you are three you have started piano lessons.

By the time you are six you are instructed in swimming.

As you age into high school, you are expected to have straight A’s and be a member of five extracurricular activities.

After high school, it is a given that you will go to a good college so that you can get a good job so that you can have high enough wages to have a house and family.

Then, you retire and live out the rest of your days reminiscing about your #successful life.

This is a pretty common story for those who wish to live the American Dream.

This story has a pretty clear cut beginning, middle, and end with very little to no deviation from the #script.

Parents may be the directors for the first part of your life, but eventually the director switches hand to a larger group: #society.

Society demands that you toe the line.

That you play your part perfectly so as not to disturb the status quo.

However, not every individual wishes to remain on set.

Some want to be directors of their own lives.

These people believe they are the writer, actor, and director.

Yet, is this self directed life even possible if you live in any society?

Does the bubble you grow up in ultimately direct the course of your life?

Is your story based on societal #expectations?
