Jesus is both your loving shepherd (v10-11) and the Lord over all creation (22-28) 

Deliberate, tension-filled waiting that binds the heart to God in expectation of His empowering presence, rooted in relationship, not circumstance.

קָוָה  “hope, wait” from root  קַו “measuring rule”, or figuratively, your rule of life”

Unlike optimism, clinging to possibilities of how circumstances could work out,

Hope clings to God, renewing the soul when nothing is working out.
