Isaiah 41:10 • The Promises of God - Peggy Locke

Listen Later

I love to hike and there are times, I use trekking poles to help me when I walk. I keep a firm grip as my poles pull me forward and keep me balanced especially when I walk on uneven and difficult ground. My poles keep me from slipping and falling down when there are holes or rocky areas.
In the same way God's promises help pull me forward and keep me balanced in my walk with Him. Just as I rely on my poles for my journey in uncertain terrain, I can rely on the promises of God for the challenging days of life!
With every planting of the pole, or every promise of God, I am able to keep going, stay steady, and balanced, and continue my journey with confidence, faith, and find renewed strength from God.
One of my favorite promises of God is Isaiah 41:10:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Another promise I’m holding onto is Isaiah 52:12:
For you shall not go out in haste,
and you shall not go in flight,
for the Lord will go before you,
and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
Working as Staff Chaplain at the hospital during this difficult time of the COVID 19 virus has been challenging. Face masks, goggles, hat, and gloves. Social distancing. But I know that God will go before me, and that He will be my rear guard. He leads me - and He’s also got my back! How comforting and reassuring is that?
I’d love to hear from you – let me know what promises of God you are holding onto today.
