11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there, Touch no unclean thing; Go out from the midst of her, Be clean, You who bear the vessels of the Lord.
Highlights from this podcast include discussions of:
--The possible significance of the “garments” the people laid down before Christ during his triumphal entry into Jerusalem
--The meekness of Christ as that which accomplished the victory of the cross and the forgiveness of our sins, and what that teaches us about the nature of the His kingdom, and our role in it
--The significance of “bearing the vessels of the Lord” and the identity of God’s people as His temple, and the “heavenly things” purified by Christ’s sacrifice
--The acceptable sacrifice of the Gentiles through the sanctification of the Holy Spirit
--The contemporary rite in many of our churches of consecrating elements of the Eucharist as essentially a throw-back to the Old Covenant, and a return to the physical types and shadows of the Old Covenant—a rite which actually has no basis in the New Covenant
--The reality that in the New Covenant, Christ is present with us always, in contrast to the teaching that “the real presence of Christ” is only realized at the “communion table”
--“Sacramental theology” as essentially the “remembrance of sins”
--Are we to pray “the Lord’s Prayer” today?
--How do we view “communion” (to partake or not to partake) today?
