The Indictment:

Isaiah 1:2-9

 

 

Four parts of the Indictment:

 

1.         The Charge

 

·        This is strongly reminiscent of Deut 32:1, where Moses called upon the heavens and the earth to witness the covenant of blessing or curses.

·        End time Rebellion : 2 Tim 3:1-2

·        Creation knows, yet the covenant people, the ones God chose to enlighten all humanity, the ones who have experienced Him first hand, the ones He has rescued over and over again—Ex. 6:7

 

 

2.         The Evidence:  Look at the evidence:  Read the verse.

            

·        God must be our focus: Luke 14:26

 

 

 

 

3.         The Judgment:  Consequence.

 

·        God will discipline his children: Heb 12:7-8

 

 

 

 

 

4.         Future Redemption

 

·        The Lord is both judge and Redeemer: Isaiah 66:22
