Isaiah's Commissioning

Isaiah 6.1-13

Isaiah is often called "The evangelistic prophet" and his book is frequently referred to as the "fifth gospel."  Woven throughout the book is the ever-growing revelation of God's plan of salvation.  In the first six chapters (which are our focus this Lent 2020) we see both the overwhelming warnings of judgement of Judah and the message of a hopeful restoration to come.  We not only discover God's prophetic plan for the world but the very personal message of God's forgiveness and steadfast love.
