According to this fatwa and the statements of Islamic scholars, if a woman uses medicine that permanently stops her ability to get pregnant, then it is haram. But if she uses something only for a short time because of a genuine need, and it only delays pregnancy, then it is makrooh. This ruling is based on the explanations of Imam Dmiyati and Imam Ramli in Shafi fiqh.
