First and foremost you must assume that every patient is infected no matter their diagnosis. This precautionary measures should be everyone responsiblity. These are as follows. Handwashing and avoid long fingernails which can harbor infection. Wear gloves when coming in contact with body fluids, mucous membranes, open wound, saliva, blood, vagina secretions and faces.Wear mask and eye protective gears. Uncapped needles, capped needles and all sharp instrument should be placed in a punctured proof container. Isolation gowns. It is important to wear Isolation gown when coming in contact with body substances. Gown should be worn once and discarded .Soiled linens properly secured and transported to laundry room for washing. There are soiled utility room in each unit and in every hospital. Trash are secured and properly disposed of.
