Earth is the beginning. It’s the foundation, and everything rests upon it. It is deeply patient. Nature does not rush. There is a benevolence to it, a warmth, a kindness for no reason.
We talk about the importance of coming back to the foundations of practice: humility, presence, listening, responsibility and the willingness to say, “I don’t know.” As practitioners, we are not the healers. We are the instrument of healing. Our role is not to project what we think someone needs, but to listen deeply enough that they can reveal the answer to themselves.
If you are tripping up in your facilitation, your art, your teaching, your clinic or your practitioner work, it will be something in the foundations.
Earth reminds us to slow down, stay curious, remain students of life, and trust the intelligence of what is already here.
