Planning a fabulous event takes a lot of work! Here at Distinctly Yours Wedding & Events, wedding are what we do every day (even in our sleep sometimes). We are NOT going to give you checklists or corny sentiments that have nothing to do with who you are as a couple.  You need from us is to share the kind of information that will guide so your event is personalize to you and so you don’t make those all too common (and costly) wedding mistakes engaged couples make. 

We infuse weddings with your personal style in every detail, so that the entire day is customized to you in a way that can never be duplicated. We believe in slowing down the planning process to allow the art of simplicity (you already have a full plate, right?). By working with a limited number of weddings per year, we guarantee elevated design, detailed consultations, and unrivaled creativity.

I may just be the first to admit I have a fabulous job! When people find out what I do, there’s always a flurry of excitement with questions to follow. “Is your job super fun? (Yes!) How many weddings have you done? (I (we) have stopped counting at 300.) Do you eat lots of cake? (Maybe I love cake…)

We have been planning weddings for a long time & we know that weddings take a lot of work. Not to mention, you've probably never had to plan something this big before!

I specialize in Love - in telling your Love's story through meaningful moments.   And I want to capture each chapter in your love's story. So whether it is the romantic love of your wedding day or the love of your growing family, I focus on capturing moments that give me all the feels, not just the smiley ones.  Often I will step back and just let you interact with each other without much interference from me. Other times I will direct you towards positioning and engagement which helps your unique love translate to my lens.  My favorite images are usually a series of photos that tell a story...and my final collections are best viewed as a whole, in an album that you can enjoy paging through time and time again... cuddled up and cozy on the couch with a glass of warm tea (or wine!) in your hand.   Please be sure to check out my blog where you can learn more about why I love what I do and what makes each session so special to me.  

When I'm not juggling the needs of my business and a busy household filled with my husband, two young kids, our dog and the box turtle I've had since I was 10, you can find me drinking a Mangoñada at Cocina del Charro, or shopping the sales at Nordstrom Rack.  In the evenings I'm usually editing away while everyone is sleeping, but you might also catch me making jewelry while curled up on the couch watching This is Us (I'm such a sap!), or crafting party decor for some upcoming soirée.   I am 100% addicted to Coke Zero, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, and black licorice - but only the kind you can get in The Netherlands, which is where I'm from! I have dual citizenship and speak 2.5 languages (huh?). BIO

Cavin Elizabeth is a wedding film photographer based in San Diego, California. Her

wedding work has taken her all over the United States. She has been published

numerous times on leading national wedding blogs, such as Ruffled, 100 Layered

Cake, Style Me Pretty, and Green Wedding Shoes, as well as stunning regional blogs

such as Southern California Bride. 

In addition to being a wedding photographer, Cavin is an educator and an avid

blogger of wedding planning tips for brides and grooms. She authored the book A

Bride’s Guide to a Picture Perfect Wedding, which teaches couples how to make simple

changes to their wedding plans to optimize their photography. She believes that

couples who plan their wedding with photography in mind are the couples who

receive the most beautiful images.

When Cavin isn’t busy photographing chic brides and grooms, she loves to attend

New York City Ballet performances, travel to European and tropical destinations,

watch the latest British dramas on Netflix, and enjoy fruity craft cocktails and

delicious vegetarian dinners with friends.

Mandy Storm 

When you hear Paul Santiago, you immediately think, first Asian male supermodel. What people don’t know is he’s also owns a wedding videography company in Southern California called, Boffo Video. Together with his wife, Stella and amazing team, they have filmed over 500 weddings and have traveled across the country to capture the different ways people celebrate their love for one another. He is a Canon ambassador, educator, and now a full fledged podcaster. His love of filmmaking and passion for business has turned this starving artist into a master businessman. When he’s not working, you can see him enjoying his terrible life by the beach, basking in the California sun while enjoying Happy Hour on Taco Tuesday. 

I met Paul in a podcast support group on facebook and we hit it off. He agreed to be on the podcast. It was great getting to know him and understating what his podcast is bringing to the Wedding Video  industry.

 Paul shares his experience as the owner of a wedding videography company in Southern California, he's also going to talk to industry pros and business gurus to share their expertise for your wedding business.

Having a business in weddings is tough. It's seasonal, unpredictable and when you're in the bottom of the budget like wedding videography, it's challenging.

We've been fortunate enough to have been in business for 8 years already and filmed about 500 weddings! That's why now it's time to share!
