Israel is on track to be home to the first non-governmental company that lands on the moon. SpaceIL is set to launch their lander on a Falcon 9 rocket on February 21st, and touch down on the lunar surface in mid-April 2019. SpaceIL was started to compete in the Google Lunar X prize before the competition expired without a declared winner.
