Thunderstorms are not common in Israel, but they are forecast to occur in many places in Israel today. This podcast discusses which places have a chance of thunderstorms. It's unseasonably warm everywhere in Israel today. High temperatures will further increase tomorrow for some places, but in other places it will become MUCH cooler. This will depend on the timing of the strong cold front forecast to move through tomorrow. Sandstorms are possible in the south. Winds in Eilat will be strong during the day. I make mention that winds will increase in the evening due to rapidly increasing pressure. However, since this is not in their forecast perhaps a different approach is needed. After sunset winds tend to calm down. Perhaps this is what they are basing their forecast on. I mention winds will be 15mph to 25mph in Eilat tomorrow afternoon. If the pressure drops would be slightly more than the situation would be similar to a "bombogenesis" and very windy conditions would develop. If such a thing develops, winds would be 25 to 35 (or higher) mph with gusts to wind advisory criteria. This is not in the forecast therefore I mention 15 to 25 mph. However, their forecast of 20 to 30 mph sits well with me. So 20 to 30mph is the forecast despite the fact I said it differently on this podcast.
