Coach Michael Burt had success early on. At 22 he became the youngest coach in Tennessee History at Riverdale High School. He won multiple championships and had multiple 25+ win seasons. Mr. Mike Kapotsy is a Bone Marrow Donor. We can't thank him enough for his selfless act! Mr. Mike's donation process was a complete Bone Marrow donation compared to what Reid had, which was a Stem Cell Transplant. It varies case by case which one is needed, although Stem Cell donations are more common. BOTH can help save a recipients life and BOTH are very important. Listen in as Mr. Mike describes why he became a donor, the processes he went through if asked, would he donate again Unfortunately, not all transplants accomplish what everyone wants  Sometimes you can do everything right and still  lose warriors fighting cancer. At age 25, Josh Powell was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called synovial sarcoma in his lower abdomen. Josh fought cancer tooth and nail to the very end. Ultimately, he was called home and passed the fight on to others. Before he left, Josh reminded us to KEEP GOING, and NEVER DIE EASY (2 phrases that are now on wristbands to remind everyone). He showed us that through a cancer diagnosis, you can still find happiness. Before his passing he was able to marry the love of his life, Fabi Powell.

Fabi joins us today to talk about Josh and her story. She describes how she and Josh first met, the diagnosis Josh received, and the JPF (Josh Powell Foundation). Reid and Beth describe as a new phase of Chemotherapy is required. Be The Match has been running in the background until this point. Now Be The Match and the Bone Marrow Registry will be upfront. It is a waiting game. The next couple rounds of Chemo are making sure Reid can get to the next phase in the recovery journey. Listen also as Reid describes one of his most fearful procedures.

Reid and Beth continue to the story. Results from Round 2 come back and while they are good, they aren't the best possible news. As a patient and caregiver, you have to learn to be thankful for the smallest of good news. Reid receives some great news, but as Beth talks about her perspective it is true, great news to one is worrisome news to others.
