Comfort and renewal. Strength and redirection. Encouragement and power. They are ours for the taking when we get desperate enough to fall down before God and cry out for His Word to be our comfort and our guide.

The problem is, most of us don’t tremble at His Word until we have been afflicted. Like Job, most of us, once afflicted, will begin to squirm and justify and lash out at both man and God before we’ll admit that what is happening to us is good.
