“Keep going.” When we asked Alyssa what she would tell her younger self now, “keep going” was her answer. Alyssa has no interest in changing her story; she doesn’t want to tell that little girl how to avoid the hurt. She just wants her to keep going. That little girl and her village brought Alyssa to where she is today, and we are so grateful that she made that choice before, and she’d make it again.
