When it comes to technical skills, certain systems and processes may be intimidating for many of your team members, especially for new hires and older employees. At the same time, with software and hardware constantly being upgraded, and AI and other tools invading all business processes, it would be wise to help your team keep up, for the sake of working smarter, not harder.
The results of a recent Masterplan survey revealed that 68% of managers and HR staff are concerned that their workforce is poorly or only moderately prepared for future challenges, with this figure significantly higher (78%) for large companies with more than 2000 employees. The top three reasons for this are lack of time, lack of understanding of future-relevant skills, and – you won’t believe it! – lack of resources. While you probably can’t do much about number 3, the first two can be addressed with efficient training that is tailored to the needs of your team, or a particular employee.
So, if you’ve already secured the budget for upskilling, reskilling, and addressing skill gaps, it’s time to decide which way to go. While there are many specific technical skills that vary based on industry, department, and even individual roles, there are essential ones that would be beneficial in most fields. Tech Training 360, an IT training company, explains what they are - keep listening to find out!
