Podcast Transcript:
Did I tell you about the time my children were seniors in homeschool, our last 6 months of homeschool, and after a morning of prayer the Lord said it was never about the academics. So now you tell me, I’ll tell you all about it in a minute.
So yeah, God says it was never about the academics. I remembered being stressed a lot of times thinking that I was not doing a good enough job. Now he tells me that it was never about the academics, that they can get academics from a book, at a community college, at a four-year college or just plain life experience. What homeschooling was really about was preparing children who would not bow a knee to Baal. Read about Elijah and Baal’s prophets in 1 Kings 18. Your home school was appointed to be a training ground for the next generation to usher in the presence and power of God and possibly his return. Your guidance and teaching is necessary for them to be able to maneuver, physically in the world, but also have a spiritual impact as well. Our culture can only see with their physical eyes, so they solve problems with their physical senses. They are doing the best they can with the limited resources they have. But children who are called by God have access to answers that others simply don’t have. Whether they are like Joseph, who was taught by his father, or like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were educated in the kings court, they always had the advantage because of their connection to God, and they literally changed the course of their nation and people. In summary, you will be successful in homeschool. The academics are important and play a specific role in secondary education options, but they’re not the main thing. The main thing and the reason why you will be successful in homeschooling is because of the connection with God that you instill into your kids. Alright gang, that’s a wrap. Thanks for listening to Grace to Educate. Be blessed.
