Don’t Despise the Hidden Season | God, Help Me Value Preparation More Than Recognition
Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything you’re supposed to do, but you’re still not where you want to be? You’re praying, working, growing, and showing up, yet it seems like everyone else is getting their moment.
In today’s episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, we’re having a real, raw, and relatable conversation about learning to appreciate the season you’re in instead of constantly rushing toward the next one.
Inspired by 1 Samuel 16:1–13, we’re exploring David’s journey from tending sheep to being anointed as king and what his story teaches us about preparation, comparison, patience, and purpose.
Sometimes we’re so focused on being recognized that we overlook the growth happening behind the scenes.
Remember, just because you’re not being seen doesn’t mean you’re not growing!
My prayer today is simple: God, help me value preparation more than recognition.
Tune in, get encouraged, and ask yourself: What is my hidden season teaching me?

GOD IS ABOUT TO BLOW YOUR MIND!
When Your Purpose Starts Making Room for You
What if God is preparing you for opportunities beyond anything you’ve ever imagined? What if everything you’ve experienced has been preparing you for the very season you’re stepping into?
In this episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, we’re talking about walking boldly in your purpose, trusting God’s timing, overcoming fear, and learning to celebrate every step of your journey.
Sometimes, we’re so focused on where we’re trying to go that we forget to appreciate how far God has already brought us.
I’m personally entering a season where I’m embracing my gifts, stepping outside my comfort zone, and experiencing the JOY of walking in purpose. And I want YOU to experience that same freedom!
Your purpose requires participation! Stop waiting for everything to be perfect. Start showing up, developing your gifts, and trusting God with the outcome.
Remember, Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ever ask or think.
Your journey isn’t over. Your gifts have value. And God is able to BLOW YOUR MIND!
Tune in, get encouraged, and SHARE this episode with someone who needs a reminder to keep going!

Have you ever been labeled “difficult,” “stubborn,” or “too much” simply because you refused to follow the crowd?
In this episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, I’m opening up about what it feels like to grow up misunderstood, constantly feeling like the problem, and eventually realizing that having a mind of your own doesn’t make you disrespectful.
We’re talking about the difference between being teachable and controllable, how boundaries can make people uncomfortable, and why you don’t have to spend your life defending yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.
This episode is also a reminder to stay humble enough to receive correction, wise enough to recognize manipulation, and strong enough to stand firm when you know something isn’t right.
If you’ve ever felt like the outsider, the “problem,” or the person who was always blamed because you wouldn’t just go along with everything — this conversation is for you.
You don’t have to become easier to control just to become easier to love.

Have you ever felt like there was more inside of you—even while you were grateful for the job you already had?
In this episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, we’re talking about why your job is not the limit of your purpose. You don’t have to quit your job, abandon your responsibilities, or turn your life upside down to take your calling seriously. Sometimes, faith looks like building slowly, making room for your gifts, and taking one realistic step at a time.
Carenna shares encouragement for anyone balancing work, family, financial responsibilities, and a dream that refuses to leave their heart. You’ll be reminded that your job title does not define everything you are, quiet progress still counts, and your purpose can show up right where you are.
You can clock in and still have a calling. Your job may be part of your story—but it does not have to be the limit of it.
If this episode encourages you, share it with someone who knows there is more inside of them.

What do you do when life changes unexpectedly and you have no idea what’s coming next?
In this episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, we’re talking about the discomfort of uncertainty and the importance of trusting God when you can’t see the full picture.
You may not know how the situation will work out. You may not know where the next opportunity will come from. You may not understand why one door closed or why you’re being asked to wait.
But you don’t need to know the whole plan. You just need to trust the One who does.
Carenna reminds us that uncertainty doesn’t mean God has forgotten you. Sometimes the closed door is protection. Sometimes the unexpected change is redirection. And sometimes God has already prepared the provision we’re praying for, we just haven’t seen it yet.
If you’re currently in an uncertain season, this episode is your reminder to stop panicking over what you can’t see and start trusting the God who can.
You don’t need the whole blueprint. You just need the faith to take the next step.

What happens when you look in the mirror and realize you’re not the same person you used to be?
In this episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, we’re getting REAL about growth, healing, boundaries, and becoming the person you were always meant to be.
Sometimes growth means outgrowing relationships, changing your priorities, protecting your peace, and realizing that the things you once prayed for aren’t even what you want anymore.
And while the old version of you may have gotten you through some difficult seasons, that person doesn’t have to come with you into your next one.
We’re talking about the uncomfortable part of becoming—the loneliness, the uncertainty, the lessons, and the freedom that comes when you stop trying to return to who you were and start embracing who you’re becoming.
Because maybe you didn’t lose yourself…
Maybe you finally found yourself.
And if you’ve been feeling different lately, this episode is your reminder:
Don’t apologize for evolving.
Don’t shrink to make people comfortable.
Don’t go backward just because forward feels unfamiliar.
You are growing.
You are healing.
You are becoming.
And you’re not who you used to be… and THAT’S the point.

What if becoming the woman you’ve been praying to become requires more than just wanting a different life?
In this episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, we’re talking about the discipline behind transformation. The quiet decisions, uncomfortable boundaries, changed habits, and intentional choices that help us become the women we keep saying we want to be.
We’re talking faith, healing, motherhood, money, health, relationships, boundaries, and learning how to stop allowing temporary emotions to make permanent decisions.
Because becoming her doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in the moments nobody sees—when you choose to pray instead of panic, save instead of spend, walk away instead of go back, take care of yourself instead of neglecting yourself, and trust God even when you don’t understand the process.
This episode is for the woman who knows she’s changing but is still somewhere between who she was and who she’s becoming.
You’re not behind. You’re becoming.
And one day, you’re going to look around and realize:
“I didn’t just pray to become her. I became her.”

What happens when you stop competing with everyone around you and realize your biggest competition has always been you?
In this deeply personal episode of It Gets Real With Carenna, I’m opening up about a version of myself that was lost, insecure, and struggling to see her own worth. I talk about being in a dark place, struggling with my weight and confidence, and feeling like I didn't recognize the woman looking back at me in the mirror.
But this episode isn't about who I used to be.
It's about elevation.
I’m sharing what it has looked like for me to grow mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and personally—and how I learned that elevation isn't about becoming someone else. It's about becoming more of who you were always meant to be.
We’re talking about:
✨ Knowing your worth
✨ Outgrowing the old version of yourself
✨ Healing and giving yourself grace
✨ Choosing yourself
✨ Setting boundaries
✨ Discipline and personal growth
✨ Comparison and feeling behind in life
✨ Turning your past into your testimony
✨ Becoming the woman you know you can be
✨ Why your only real competition is YOU
If you've ever looked at your life and thought, “I know I'm capable of more,” this episode is for you.
Your past doesn't have to define your future.
You are still becoming.
And sometimes the biggest glow-up isn't what people see on the outside—it's what happens inside of you.
This is It Gets Real With Carenna.
And this episode is all about learning to say:
“I choose me.” ❤️

Have you ever found yourself asking, “God, how much longer?”
You’ve prayed. You’ve worked. You’ve healed. You’ve tried again. And yet, you’re still waiting.
Waiting on the right relationship.
Waiting for your career to take off.
Waiting for your business to grow.
Waiting for your finances to change.
Waiting for your breakthrough.
Waiting for life to finally feel like it’s moving forward.
In this episode of It Gets Real with Carenna, we’re having a real conversation about what happens when you begin to feel weary in your waiting.
Because sometimes it’s not that you’ve stopped believing in God, you’re simply tired of waiting for what you’ve been praying for.
We’re talking about the difference between waiting and wasting time, why delay doesn’t always mean denial, how comparison can make you feel behind, and why your waiting season may actually be a season of preparation.
If you’re in a season where you’re wondering whether God has forgotten about you, this episode is your reminder:
You are not behind.
You are not forgotten.
You are not being punished.
You are becoming.
And while you’re waiting, you can still heal.
You can still dream.
You can still build.
You can still laugh.
You can still live.
Your waiting season doesn’t have to be an empty season.
It can be a growing season.
