Here’s the Ithaca Minute from 14850 Today for February 28th.
The Ithaca Police Department says a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was robbed by a man who displayed a small handgun on Monday night, and the suspect fired into the roadway. The incident was on the 400 block of Elm Street on Ithaca’s west hill.
Police say the victim was delivering pizza in the area when the suspect, described as a thin, white male about 5’7″ tall, approached him and demanded all of his money. The suspect was wearing dark pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a baseball hat.
The victim reported that the suspect searched the victim’s pockets before displaying the handgun and again demanding money, then searched again and fired twice into the roadway. A change pouch containing about $30 and credit cards was taken, and the suspect fled on foot towards West Village. No one was injured, police say.
Ithaca College has joined the list of schools saying high school students who are disciplined for protesting in the wake of gun violence will not jeopardize their admission decisions. IC says, “We encourage free expression and constructive dialogue that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, and applaud students who seek to make the world a better place.”
And we’re sorry to report that Sticky Rice, Downtown Ithaca’s Thai and Laotian restaurant, has closed.
