Here’s the Ithaca Minute from 14850 Today for March 28th.
Firefighters extracted an elderly woman whose car rolled over on East Court Street on Tuesday night, after getting a call that a person was trapped inside a vehicle.
According to the Ithaca Fire Department, a call came in around 9:30pm, and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a Toyota Prius on its side with the driver unable to get out.
Ithaca Police officers closed off the street while firefighters cut the windshield to extract the woman, who was “shaken but uninjured.”
Ithaca is beginning its annual schedule of street cleaning on Monday, April 2, and asks residents to move their cars when their street is scheduled. Signs will go up 24 hours ahead of a street closing.
City crews will post “no parking” signs 24 hours ahead of time throughout the month of April, so keep an eye on where your car is parked and be prepared to move it. Notifications are also available from the Swift911 system offered by Ithaca and Tompkins County, which can text or call or email when there’s an update.
