What if God has already freed you from something you’re still allowing to define you?
The Israelites were delivered from Egypt, yet when freedom became uncomfortable, they found themselves wanting to return to the very bondage God had brought them out of.
And sometimes, we do the same thing.
In Season 4, Episode 3 of Ignite the Light, Alesia Denise talks about what it means to actually walk in the freedom Jesus purchased for us—letting go of shame, old identities, fear, and the temptation to keep looking backward.
Through the stories of the Israelites, Joshua and Caleb, and Paul’s radical transformation, we explore what happens when we stop seeing ourselves through the lens of our past and start believing what God says about who we are.
God removes our sins as far as the east is from the west. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. And just like Paul, your past doesn’t have to disqualify you—it can become evidence of the transforming grace of God.
The question for this week: What has God already brought you out of that you’re still allowing to define you?
Your past is part of your story, but it doesn’t get to name you. Jesus does.
You are forgiven.
You are redeemed.
You are free.
Now walk like it❤️🔥
Matthew 5:14-16 - “…Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
