Challenges of care in Asian Culture It's A Brown Thing with with Parita and Saiqa.
When two friends of many years talk to each other they talk
straight and direct, they don't hide what they think but they also
don't show off by trying to seem clever.
It's A Brown Thing does not seek to talk down to you, educate
you or impress you. Parita and Saiqa are talking to each other
about the things that are in their min and things in life that
interest them. Sometimes they will make you laugh because what
they say reminds you of your own life experiences, and sometimes
they may make you disagree with them, but in the end what
matters is you listen, enjoy the conversation and if you want then
to join in.
In this episode, they discuss the challenges faced in the brown
community when caring for the elderly. Have you faced any
challenges when caring for a loved one? Do your non Asian
friends face the same challenges? What can we do to help make
things easier? Guest speaker Amee who runs a successful business
within the care sector speaks of her own personal challenges and
tries to offer some solutions!
