The Gospel of Matthew, chapter 3, verses 1 and 2: "In those days, John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying 'repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.'" Now, John the Baptist was calling out to a sin-sick generation that was tired of the same sin-and-confess cycle. He wanted to deal with the condition of their hearts. His message could be summarized by one word, "repent." Repent means to have a change of heart, a change of mind and direction. You've been going one way, doing things one way, and perceiving things and circumstances through a certain lens. Now, God is calling you to a new direction, one that is completely in line with His Word, His ways and led by His spirit-the Spirit at work in those who have made Jesus Christ their Lord. It's a simple path to true freedom. To get there you have to begin with prayer. It's time to pray.
