BETTER TOGETHER

Just try to imagine:

Batman without Robin

The Lone Ranger without Tonto

Tarzan without Jane

Larry and Moe without Curly

Laurel without Hardy

Peanut butter without jelly

It’s just not right… Something’s missing…

Things are just better together.

In fact, “BETTER TOGETHER” is our 2011 year theme. Across this year, we will consider that we are made to be partners with one another. Since God made us all as one Body of believers, what does that mean? Well, whatever else it may mean, two things stand out clearly:

1. We’re not meant to be solitary saints.

2. We’re BETTER TOGETHER. None of us is as good

as all of us.

In fact, our differences actually build up the Body of Christ. Why should my heart try to make my liver into a heart, too? I need both. I need a liver as badly even though it’s vastly different from my heart. My body works best when all the different parts do what only they can do.

Same with the Body of Christ. Each of us needs to be the “us” God has called us to be. When we do that, we discover we really are BETTER TOGETHER.
