It's More Than Going To Church
God's design for humanity is not one of selfishness or looking out for ourselves alone. It is one of life together, looking out for the needs of others above our needs. We were designed for more than ourselves, for more than just going to Church. Most people are okay with just going to Church, and nothing else bothers them. They are okay with the status quo of people needing food, shelter, water, and clothes, to name a few things, while we gather and worship God. But this God that we gather and worship says in his Word, the least you do for these you do it unto me (Matthew 25)
It's more than going to Church. We serve a God who cares for people, and we cannot say we love God when we ignore the plight and needs of others. He says this is what he accepts and wants, "...to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." That's
more than just going to church, that's more than being religious, that's more than saying we are saved, and more than looking out for ourselves... It's
giving of ourselves for others. This Jesus says that's what it takes to follow me. He says if anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his
cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24).
May we become more than churchgoers and see the needs of those around us. Putting the needs of others before ourselves. Life is not worth living if we
are not helping others. Jesus says, "By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” (John 13:35 NIV). It's more than going to church; it's about caring and loving others, and in so doing, we demonstrate the love of Christ toward others and show them that it's more than going to church. God bless you…
