When an investigator with the Department of Children and Families follows up on a call to its abuse hotline and determines there is reason to suspect a child has been abused or neglected in Lee, Charlotte, Hendry or Glades Counties, the case is referred to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida .
