Phil and I had traveled together and spoken as a team for over 20 years… People have called us great, we have won some awards, we have gained some national attention… But in that time we have seen hundreds of people come and go in the arena of motivational speaking (especially in the area of speaking to students) We came to realize that we may not actually be the best, but we are consistent and that makes us stand out more than being the best.

God never changes… maybe that is his biggest secret of success. 

 

 

 

I have spent a lot of time interviewing the top people of the world, and truthfully, most of them are not that much more impressive than many of their peers. they are just a little bit better, but they’ve been just a little bit better year after year after year for quite a while. The power behind consistency is that you are consistently doing the right thing. 

So first is to analyze what you are doing… will it be the best in the long run?

One of my favorite quotes is simply this: if your consequences were immediate would you do that?

Eat a twinkie… overweight

Look at porn… divorce

Smoke a cigarette… cancer

 

It would sure clear up some bad choices in a hurry wouldn’t it! 

 

So ask yourself “what am I doing?”
