It's OK to rest, and it doesn't mean you have to do nothing!

I wish someone told me it was OK to rest and that there are so many different ways to do so.

Rest doesn't mean just stopping or doing nothing. We need to rest in multiple ways.

I struggled with rest for a long time as I didn't know how to stop or slow down, when I realised you could rest in a variety of ways, I also realised what I was missing in my life.

No time to be creative, meditation was a task not an opportunity to rest, social events weren't valued, and I didn't understand the need for mental or emotional rest and how this could benefit my wellbeing.

Now, I look for ways to add different types of rest into my daily and weekly routine. I don't wait until the weekend or end of term, feel guilty for taking a nap or starting a new craft project, and I value time to meditate and socialise.

It's OK to rest, you just need to find the type of rest that works for you.
