Today's episode is a value add. It is not necessarily about finance, but finance does play a role in the topic. The special guest for this week's show is Brian Gillespie of Cop2Cop, which is a 24-hour peer support program for New Jersey Law Enforcement Officers and their families.
So, why is it a value add? The Holiday Season can be particularly stressful on law enforcement officers, who endure such an excessive amount of stress throughout their careers as a whole. Since the onset of Covid, a lot has changed, and people on social media have really used law enforcement as a punching bag.
The job of the law enforcement officer is often stressful, demanding and very dangerous. That lifestyle, in and of itself, affects the lives of officers, their spouses, their partners, their children and their friends. With the added stress of the Holidays right now, I thought it would be great to have Brian Gillespie as a guest to speak about the Cop2Cop Program, what they do and what they have to offer.
“Never underestimate the impact that you may have on someone else's life.”
Like Brian says in this episode, “it's okay not to be okay." If you need help or if you are feeling hopeless or anxious, you need to pick up the phone and call Cop2Cop. Their number is (866) 267-2267, and someone is always there on the other end who cares about you and your well-being. Always know that you matter.
